Welcome to the UVic Seabird & Murrelet Research Group

UVic "Institute of Brachyramphology" ... or the folks who work with Alan Burger

We conduct research on seabirds, primarily the Threatened Marbled Murrelet (Brachyramphus marmoratus), and provide input into the conservation and management of these birds. Our goal is to understand some of the complex biological and physical processes that affect seabirds. We work mainly on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, and more recently on Kodiak Island, Alaska.
