How to Book an AppointmentWe book three types of appointments at the Advising Centre: Same-Day AppointmentThese appointments are for newly-admitted, current and returning UVic students. They are booked in person and for the same day only. You must come in to the Advising Centre (University Centre, Room A203) in the morning (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) and select an available time for that day. We open at 8:30 am, and our first appointment is usually at 8:40. Appointments are a maximum 20 minutes in duration. Please note that we frequently fill our appointment times by mid-morning and rarely have cancellations throughout the day. During peak times (September, June and January) students are often lined up before the Advising Centre opens. Prospective Student appointmentThese appointments must be booked in advance and are reserved for individuals who have never attended UVic. Appointments are for a maximum 30 minutes duration. You can call the Advising Centre to book an appointment (250.721.7567 ext. 6), or you may wish to call or e-mail the Prospective Student Adviser directly (250.472.5039 or adva@uvic.ca). The Prospective Student Adviser is available weekdays from 8:00 to 1:00. Please see the Advising for Prospective Student page.
Special Circumstances*Please note that exceptions can be made for students in special circumstances (i.e, students with a mobility impairment, students from out of town, etc.). If none of our appointments are appropriate for you, please do not hesitate to call the Advising Centre to explain your situation. We strive to be equitable in our booking policy.
