Academic Advising CentreAdvising Officers for current and returning students are available for same-day appointments Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Advising Assistants are available to help students during normal office hours: Monday to Thursday 8:30 to 4:00 and Friday 8:30 to 12:00. Prospective students please contact us before coming to the Advising Centre or visit how to book an appointment section of our website. The Academic Advising Centre for the Faculties of Humanities, Science & Social Sciences is located in Room A203, University Centre (near the Student Awards and Financial Aid Office). The Advising Centre provides academic advice for students who plan to complete a degree in one of our three faculties. We help students plan programs and ensure that they meet graduation requirements. The Centre also processes requests to study at other universities and colleges and refers students to resources on campus. Your Visit to the Academic Advising CentreWhen you arrive at the Centre, you will meet one of the Advising Assistants. The Assistants are highly-experienced members of the Centre staff and can answer almost all of the questions that you have, whether they be about academic programs and procedures, or more general to the processes and requirements of the University. The Assistants will determine whether or not you need an appointment with an Advising Officer. In order to help the Assistants understand your needs and concerns, it is important that you respond to questions that they ask. Since the Centre is always very busy with students, you should expect this initial discussion to be precise and straightforward, so that the Assistants can ascertain your particular needs quickly and assist as many students as possible.
