Advising for Prospective and Newly Admitted Students

Advising for Prospective Students

The Advising Centre provides services for prospective students. This includes those students who have applied, but not yet been admitted to UVic, as well as students who are still in the planning stage. Our prospective student adviser provides information on academic requirements and programs offered by the Faculties of Humanities, Science & Social Sciences.

Prospective students, and their parents, as well as high school and college counsellors, can have their questions answered by email or phone (250.472.5039). For information on booking an appointment to meet with the Prospective Student Adviser, please see the How to Book an Appointment page.

For information on the admissions process and requirements, please see the UVic Admissions site.

For general information on becoming a UVic Student, please visit UVic's Prospective Student page.

Advising for Newly Admitted Students

Start by viewing Reg 101 website for timetable information and important deadlines. Instructions are laid out in an easy-to-follow, step-by-step format, and critical information from the UVic Calendar is presented in plain, simple language. It is well worth the time it takes to read this guide carefully. Also review the First Year Program Guide for information regarding course selection for first year.

Newly admitted students can have their questions answered by email or phone (250.721.7567 extension 6). Please feel free to come in for a same-day appointment.
