The BC Government declared the 2010-2011 school year the "BC Year of Science", hoping to encourage young people to pursue an education in science in order to prepare them for the jobs of tomorrow. The goal is to engage young British Columbians in science by highlighting how science works and why it matters, who scientists are, and the kind of work they do. The UVic Faculty of Science is developing monthly science activities for BC youth as well as short interviews with UVic scientists. The June entry features Biology faculty member Dr. Terri Lacourse: http://web.uvic.ca/sciweb/
