Music in the Elementary Classroom II
Units: 1.5, Hours: 3-0
EDCI 306B content is a continued development of the musical skills and concepts learned in EDCI 306A with a focus on music teaching and learning strategies for the upper elementary and middle school grades. Students will have the opportunity to work in ensemble settings using classroom instruments such as recorders, Orff instruments, guitars and ukuleles to arrange accompaniments, improvise, and compose. In addition, students will plan units around selected topics such as History of Rock'n Roll, World Music, Canadian Folk Music, Classical Kids, Listening Activities, Integrated Arts, and Historical Significance of Songs. Additional topics will be added according to interests.
Note: Credit will be granted for only one of 306B, 306, EDCI 306, EDUC 306, ME 204, ME 206, ME 304.
