Indigenous Epistemologies

Study and celebration of Indigenous knowings and practices (traditional and evolved) of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people, problematization of the assimilative pressures imposed on Aboriginal peoples since contact. Topic includes: how first peoples think, feel and act as the people of this land; different kinds of Aboriginal oral, spiritual, and written scholarship; epistemological frameworks, methodologies and protocols for validating Indigenous scholarship; ethics and values implied by research teaching, aand organizational systems.
