Studies in the Literature of the 19th Century: Special Topic

This year: Victorians and Disability
A study of Victorian literature and disability. Topics will include narration and disability, the narrative prosthesis, disability and the social body. Authors: Dickens, Collins, Trollope, Mayhew, Yonge. Students will also explore less well known treatments of disability via the library collection of Victorian periodical literature.
