Mathematics for Economics and Econometrics
Units: 1.5, Hours: 3-0
Matrix algebra: basic operations, linear equations, determinants and cofactors, linear independence, solution to linear systems, quadratic forms; partial derivatives, constrained and unconstrained optimization; applications to economics and econometrics.
Note: Credit will be granted for only one of 208, 103, 140, 240. Credit will not be granted for 208 if students have credit for both one of 200, 202, or 205 and one of 110, 133, 211, 233A.
Prerequisites: 100 or 102; and ECON 103, 104; or permission of the department.
Undergraduate course in Mathematics offered by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the Faculty of Science.
