Leisure and Society

The social production, consumption and distribution of leisure,with attention to the ways in which class, gender and other social differnces shape what counts as leisure. The social history and ecology of leisure, focusing on the role of consumer capitalism and the development of such forms of leisure as entertainment and popular culture, tourism, and self-improvement.
