Applicants seeking admission to the Faculty of Fine Arts should refer to the admission requirements on this page. Additional requirements for admission to the departments of Music, Theatre, Visual Arts and Writing are included in each departments entry.
Students wishing to complete a second bachelors degree should proceed as outlined on this page.
Students who plan to undertake work at other universities must receive prior approval from the Fine Arts Advising Centre. To be eligible for a Letter of Permission to take courses elsewhere, the student must have completed, or be registered in, no less than 6 units at UVic. Upon successful completion of such work, the student must request the registrar of the other university to send an official transcript of record to Records Services at UVic.
Candidates for a bachelors degree must normally complete at UVic a minimum of 30 units at the 100 level or above, including at least 18 of the minimum 21 upper-level units required for all degree programs. Students may take at another institution:
Applications for Letters of Permission to undertake studies elsewhere must be accompanied by $10.00 payment per application, per institution.
