A key component in the MFA is courses and practice in the teaching of writing. Financial Support

Because of the MFA program’s mandatory teaching component, our first-year graduate students will each receive a Graduate Teaching Assistantship.

Graduate Fellowships will be awarded to master’s students in the second year of their program. There are a number of graduate scholarships available specifically for Writing students, along with others in the university. Students without a previous Master’s degree are eligible to apply for SSHRC funding.
