History of Early Canadian Art

A history of the visual arts, especially painting and sculpture from 1759 to the early 20th century. The course will begin with a brief consideration of the background in 17th- and early 18th-century art, especially of Québec, and end with the rise of the Group of Seven and their contemporaries.
