Overview and status of various fuel cell technologies. Fundamentals: fuel cell thermodynamics; electrode kinetics; performance and efficiency; transport processes. Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs). Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs). Fuelling issues. Fuel cell systems and applications.
Prerequisites: 240, 345.
Undergraduate course in Mechanical Engineering offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering.
