Student Appeal Procedures
- Students who are not satisfied with the decision of the Co-op coordinator should attempt to resolve their concerns at the Co-op program level.
- If a student is not satisfied with a decision at the program level, the student may appeal the decision in writing to the Dean of the relevant faculty and the Executive Director of Co-operative Education, with a copy to the Co-op coordinator who made the decision or ruling being appealed. The Co-op Coordinator may file a written response to the appeal to the Dean and the Executive Director, with a copy to the appellant. The Dean and the Executive Director will consider the appeal. The Dean and the Executive Director may request additional written submissions from the student and the coordinator and may invite the student and the coordinator to make oral submissions. The Dean and the Executive Director shall communicate their decision in writing to the student and the coordinator in a reasonable time.
- If the student is not satisfied with this decision, the student may appeal to the Senate Committee on Appeals. This appeal process is governed by the Regulations on Appeals. Decisions of the Senate Committee on Appeals are final and may not be appealed to the Senate. In cases that do not fall under the jurisdiction of the Senate Committee on Appeals, the decision of the Dean and the Executive Director of Co-operative Education is final.
