Welcome to the CAREX Canada Emissions Mapping Project (EMP). If you continue to browse and use this website, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy (below) govern CAREX Canada’s relationship with you in relation to this website.

Throughout this document, the use of “us” or “we” refers to CAREX Canada, and “the site” refers to the Emissions Mapping Project website currently located at web.uvic.ca/carex/emp. The term “you” refers to the user or viewer of the website.

1. Accuracy of Data
Data is provided with the hope that it will be useful, but without any warranty, express or implied. CAREX Canada does not provide any guarantee of accuracy, timeliness, performance, or suitability of the information or materials found on this site. Do not base important decisions on these data without first contacting the original data providers to assess accuracy. This can be found either by consulting each product’s associated metadata, or contacting CAREX Canada directly. You acknowledge that information and materials may contain inaccuracies or errors to which CAREX Canada is not liable to the fullest extent permitted by law.

2. Completeness of Data
Only emissions of CAREX known or suspected carcinogens are included in any of our products. There may be emissions of additional substances from these facilities, and there may be numerous facilities not shown that do not emit CAREX known or suspected carcinogens. Although we have made best efforts to include all facilities which do emit CAREX known or suspected carcinogens, there may exist facilities which emit substances which we track but are not included in our products.

3. External Associations
This website may provide links to other websites not associated with CAREX Canada. This links are provided for convenience and as a source of additional information. They do not signify the endorsing of said website(s), and we have no liability or responsibility for the content of linked website(s).

Privacy Policy

1. Personal Information
CAREX Canada will never distribute, sell, or make available any personal information collected by the user registration system to any 3rd party. To the best of our efforts the information that we do collect will be made secure from hacking or theft.

2. User Tracking
The site does use tracking statistics provided by Google Analytics - Privacy Policy available here - which tracks site interactions by IP address.

3. User Surveys
You may be contacted and asked to participate in a survey assessing the usability of this site and its products.
