Arrival time
Ceremony location
The UVic Convocation ceremonies take place in the University Centre Farquhar Auditorium. Each ceremony lasts approximately one and a half to two hours. Please note that the Farquhar Auditorium is a scent-free environment.
Students will be preparing for their ceremony in the Clearihue building. Please do not enter the Clearihue building before the ceremony - this area has been reserved for graduates and convocation staff only.
There will be a reception following the ceremony for guests to celebrate with the graduating students.
Parking
Seating
Each Convocation ceremony guest must present a valid ticket in order to enter the auditorium. Fire code regulations require all persons, even babes-in-arms, to have a ticket.
The auditorium will be open for seating one hour before each ceremony. Accessible seating is available upon request; graduates must note the special seating requirements of their guest(s) when registering online for Convocation.
Receptions
Photographs
The Artona Group will be present during each Convocation ceremony. Two photos will be taken of each student as they cross the stage. Proofs of these photographs, along with an order form, will be mailed to the address specified on your attendance form.
After the ceremony, Artona will be in University Centre A183 to take family and individual portraits on a first come first served basis.
Artona has a trailer containing a professional photography studio on the UVic campus year round. Appointments can be made by contacting Artona directly.
Flowers
Bouquets of fresh roses will be available for purchase at the University Centre on the day of Convocation. You can also pre-order online for pick-up at the ceremony.
Flowers are neither worn nor carried by the graduates until after the ceremony has concluded.

Convocation DVDs
The Artona Group, the university’s official photographer, will produce DVDs of each ceremony. Please contact them directly to order a Convocation DVD.
