The Clayoquot Archive

The Clayoquot Archive, now located at the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust, is a collection of primary documents related to the politics of land-use in the Clayoquot region. An on-line Index is accessible through the Trust's Web site. Queries about Archive access should be directed to the Trust. The original collection was established in 1996-99. Documents were collected or copied from a wide variety of sources, including individuals, private organizations, and government agencies. The compilers of the Archive received assistance from many different individuals and organizations.

The Archive was originally assembled, organized, and catalogued by Andrew Ross in 1996-97. He also created the Searchable Database for the Archive, which is accessible at the web site of the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust. Delcacey Tedesco updated the Archive in 1998-99, before it was turned over to the Clayoquot Biosphere Trust. The University Archivist, Jane Turner, provided useful guidance in the original development of the archive.
