Our Community Book Club was designed for individuals interested in reading and discussing books related to disability in an open, supportive environment. We encouraged both newcomers and seasoned bookclub participants to join the Engaging Disability Bookclub. Each two hour evening session was facilitated by an individual experienced in leading discussions.
Registration was FREE and open to anyone.
Participants were required to acquire books on their own. Most books were available through the Greater Victoria Public Library. Those registered for Engaging Disability Book Club sessions received 10% off the purchase of the designated book through the University of Victoria Bookstore.
All book club sessions were 7pm to 9pm in the David F. Strong Building, University of Victoria. The sessions were in an accessible building and a scent-free environment. Campus map available here. Parking information available here.
