Bio

Ken Stewart joined the University of Victoria in 1984 prior to receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 1986. He had earlier earned an A.M. in Economics (1980) and an A.M. in Statistics (1982) from the University of Michigan and an M.Sc. in Economics (1978) from the London School of Economics and Political Science. His undergraduate degree was an Honours B.A with a double major in Economics and Mathematics (1977) from Dalhousie University, where he graduated with first class honours and was awarded the University Medal in Economics in his graduating year.

Ken teaches econometrics and macroeconomics, while his research interests are in theoretical and applied econometrics. His theoretical papers deal chiefly with properties of test statistics, while his applied work is primarily in the areas of empirical industrial organization and demand analysis. His research papers have appeared in journals such as Applied Financial Economics, Econometric Reviews, Economic Inquiry, Economic Policy, Economics Letters, Empirical Economics, the Journal of Industrial Economics, the Journal of Productivity Analysis, and the Review of Economics and Statistics. He is the author of the textbook Introduction to Applied Econometrics (Thomson/Cengage—Brooks/Cole, 2005), and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Sport Management."
