YRN Professional Development Day
As part of the ECSA-C Biennial Conference, the Young Researchers Network (YRN) will organize a Professional Development Seminar the day prior to the ECSA-C Conference, on April 26, 2012.
The Professional Development Seminar echoes the main objective of YRN to promote European Studies among students and young scholars in Canada by increasing communication and networking among YRN members (current and prospective), and by assisting them in their professional development.
Our seminar speakers will touch a wide range of issues that our members will certainly encounter as they develop their career. These include: trends in post-secondary education, grant proposals writing, opportunities for external funding, and publication and dissemination strategies for original research. The full-day seminar will also focus on potential job markets for Europeanists (academic and non-academic), the importance of conference participation (benefits and outcomes) and internship opportunities (in and outside of Canada).
