( The persecution of Norman took place over a number of years. The fact he had been attracted to communist ideas while at Trinity College, Cambridge during the 1930s was used to raise doubts about his loyalty and to sow suspicion that he was a Soviet agent. Below is some of the diplomatic correspondence related to his persecution in 1951 - 1957. Also included is an index to the memoranda in Norman's security file. CONFIDENTIAL.
