Creating Spaces

Do you ever wonder if your actions and language are as inclusive as they could be?

Do you feel frustrated about so much talk about "diversity" without enough action to support it?

Do you want to build better connections with other people and groups working and studying on campus?

The Creating Spaces workshop is part of a range of campus-wide activities that champion the first objective of UVic’s 2007 strategic plan by creating and maintaining “a diverse, welcoming, learning community with a strong commitment to equity”. Creating Spaces workshops promote anti-oppressive practices, respect for human rights, awareness of power, powerlessness and our own multiple social locations. You will be encouraged to deconstruct “normal” and to focus on building connections and equitable relationships.
