How to Complete the Employment Equity Survey

New employees will receive an email that includes a link to the Employment Equity Survey. If you would like to answer the survey and you don't have the link, or if you are an existing employee who has not answered the survey, please follow these steps:

1. Sign in to UVic
2. Click on "current students, faculty & staff"
3. Click on "Employee services" in menu on left
4. Select "Answer a Survey"
5. Select "Employment Equity Survey"

The survey should take about five minutes to complete. If you have any questions please visit our FAQ or contact the Equity and Human Rights Office at 250-721-8488 or by email. Thank you!

About the Survey

As a recipient of funding from the Federal Government of Canada, the University of Victoria participates in the Federal Contractors Program (FCP). In conjunction with the Employment Equity Act, the program requires UVic to ask all of its employees to complete an Employment Equity Survey. The survey is one of many employment equity processes at UVic and while it is limited to the questions required for FCP compliance, other initiatives at UVic strive for inclusion.

The answers to this survey will be compiled and used to:

• Suggest initiatives to promote fairness and equity at the University of Victoria (such as training programs and the monitoring of turnover and retention)
• Maintain compliance with the Federal Contractors Program monitored by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada
• Assist with internal employment equity planning and reporting

The information collected in this survey is confidential. It will be reported in summary or aggregate form and will be kept separately from employee records.
