Annual Giving Student Calling Program
Why We're Calling
We call all UVic alumni because we want you to stay involved with UVic. We want to know about your experiences and how your education at UVic has affected your life after graduation. We want to keep you updated and involved in the programs that UVic offers, like alumni benefits and services, exciting events and other interesting university news.
When we call you, we’re also hoping you’ll be able to make a donation to one of our many important funds. The donations you make to the university through the calling program contribute to scholarships, bursaries, the library, athletics, a specific faculty, and other community programs. You can specify where you want your donation to go.
No matter how much you give, it always makes a difference.

Janyn
Where is your hometown? Good question! I was born in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. I moved to Vancouver, BC and lived there for 5 years, then moved again to Pasco, WA, USA and lived there for 6 years! I guess I have many hometowns!
What is your area of study? BSc in Biopsychology.
What are your future/career goals? My future goal is to go to medical school - hopefully the Island Medical Program here at UVic. However, I would like to get a MSc in Neuroscience before medical school to get experience in the research field.
How long have you been a Student Caller? I did the calling program briefly back in September 2011 but have worked behind the scenes all year as an assistant at the call centre.
What is your favourite fund and why? My favourite fund is the General Student Bursary Fund because it helps out your everyday, average student. There are many genius students here at UVic and it's hard for an average, hard-working student to compete with them. Bursaries are a great opportunity for hard-working students to reach their dream without having to be geniuses.
Why would you choose to give to UVic after graduation? Education is a privilege and something not everyone can receive. I’d like to give back to UVic to give a student an opportunity to receive that wonderful gift of learning and support their dreams.
