Student Awards
The University of Victoria’s awards program includes scholarships, bursaries, fellowships and prizes.
Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded for academic achievement at the graduate or undergraduate level. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit. Admission scholarships are given to students entering first year; in-course scholarships are awarded during the student's undergraduate or graduate studies.
Bursaries
Bursaries are awarded to both undergraduate and graduate students. While the student's academic standing is considered, the main criterion is demonstrated financial need.
Fellowships
Fellowships are given to graduate students on the basis of academic merit. Eligibility may be limited to students in a specific program (e.g. physics) or group of disciplines (e.g. the natural sciences), or open to all fields.
Prizes
Prizes are normally of lesser value than scholarships or fellowships, and are given to recognize outstanding achievement in a particular subject or field of study.
