Commemorate an event or person

To make a gift in someone’s honour, or to commemorate an event or person, please proceed as for any other gift of cash and indicate in whose memory/honour you are making this gift.

• Commemorative donations to the University of Victoria are often requested by families in lieu of cards and flowers. The donations can be directed to any fund at the university.
• We appreciate being notified by the family in advance, to ensure that we are able to respond to enquiries and direct donations to the appropriate fund. If the fund is already established, then the gifts will be added automatically
• If a new fund is being established, the university will work with the donor or family to develop final terms for the award or project. Please see also Establishing an annual fund and Establishing an endowment.
• Families can be informed of the names of people who made donations in memory, however not of the individual amounts given.
