Dear Golden Key 2008 New Members:
Congratulation and welcome to Golden Key. Golden Key is the International Honour Society which can only be joined by those who get an invitation. The invitations are sent out through Golden Key's international headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia and are based on students' GPA (the top 15% of each faculty). There is a one time fee for a lifetime membership.
The benefits of the membership are numerous both at a Chapter level (UVic) and at an international level. The most sought after benefits from members are the scholarships. Each year, an overwhelming percentage of Canadian Golden Key members come away with prestigious international awards.
UVic Golden Key is also the UVSS Golden Key Associates Club. There are many leadership and volunteer opportunities when you are members. In 2008, we are considering a partnership with Victoria Hospice Society to raise money to help end of life care in Nepal. We may also find opportunities to focus on "literacy" through participating in Conversation Cafes for international students. Please consider becoming more active in the years to come. To truly benefit from your membership, you need to be involved.
