FACULTY POSITIONS
IMPORTANT REMINDER: To be considered for a faculty position at the University of Victoria, please refer to current Faculty searches and follow the application procedures as specified in the individual faculty position description.
1. CUPE POSITIONS
The Application
Application forms were discontinued as of May 1, 2007, and were replaced by the uHire online application system. An application cover letter, resume and the name of three references must be submitted online, through uHire online application system.
Closing Date & Time
CUPE positions are posted online at
http://uhire.uvic.ca, normally for seven calendar days. Positions
are also posted at the Human Resources office. All competitions close at 4:30 p.m. on the closing date, and late submissions will not be accepted.
Due to considerations of volume and availability, candidates
interviewed for CUPE jobs usually reside locally.
Internal Applicants
Only CUPE 951 and 917 Union employees may apply for internal-only postings. A casual (on-call) CUPE employee
may also apply as an internal applicant if they have worked in a CUPE
951 or 917 position within the previous twenty working days.
The Selection Process
Applications are reviewed by Human Resources, then forwarded to
the hiring departments for shortlisting, interviewing, and selection.
This process normally takes a week to ten days.
The selection criteria for CUPE competitions are seniority, work
performance and pertinent qualifications.
