This tool was designed to allow users to easily add Japanese characters in graphical format to their websites. All you have to do is click on the symbols you want, then cut and paste the code provided into your own html pages. You can also copy and paste Unicode versions of the characters from a textbox, so the keypad can also be used as a basic input method editor.

We are very grateful to Scott Aalgaard and Roy Tanner, who did a huge amount of work in selecting and creating the graphics, and preparing the keypad table. Code is by Martin Holmes. The concept is based on a similar keypad for the International Phonetic Alphabet (here), created by Martin and Shannon Moore.
