Ser, Ir, Dar, Ver Many of the most common verbs are irregular in the preterit tense, and must simply be memorized. However, learning verbs that are conjugated similarily helps with the memorization process. For example, Ser (to be) and ir (to go) are conjugated exactly alike in the preterite. Ver (to see) and dar (to give) have many similarities as well.   ser, ir ver dar Singular yo fui vi di tú fuiste viste diste él / ella / usted fue vio dio EXAMPLES: Yo fui al baile a las dos. Ella vio una película. Plural nosotros / nosotras fuimos vimos dimos vosotros / vosotras fuisteis visteis disteis ellos / ellas / ustedes fueron vieron dieron EXAMPLES: Fuimos fatal en el partido. Ellos dieron muchos regalos.
