Awarded by the Faculty of Humanities
- Humanities Award for Research Excellence
The award recognizes demonstrated excellence in research during the five academic years (1 Jan-31 Dec) preceding the deadline for nominations. The award is given on the basis of innovative/original work and consists of $500 to be used for research purposes. All faculty with regular appointments in the Faculties of Humanities at the University of Victoria that continue through December are eligible. The nominee should have at least three years of research experience at the University of Victoria. Previous winners are not eligible for re-nomination.

- Humanities Award for Teaching Excellence
The Award has been established to recognize and encourage excellence in teaching in the Faculty of Humanities. One award is presented annually to a nominee from the Faculty. The Teaching Excellence Award Selection Committee will evaluate all submissions and select the person to be recognized. The award includes recognition at convocation, $500 towards professional development, and permanent inscription on wall plaque in the general office of the Dean of Humanities.
