Fellowship Opportunities Outside the University of Victoria
These are usually residency fellowships (most with stipends) that facilitate the thinking and writing process for scholars. With a few exceptions, most require that the scholar be at the writing stage. Most of them are continuing, i.e. offered every year. However, given economic uncertainty, please confirm that they are available for the relevant time period. Also since these have required “residency” requirements, study leaves are probably best suited for such fellowships. However, if your research agenda is such that a residency would be helpful during a non-study leave year, it is essential that your application should be fully discussed in advance with your Chair (who will receive advice from the Dean). Contact Sikata Banerjee, Associate Dean, Humanities (sikatab@uvic.ca, ext. 7259) if you would like discuss any of these opportunities further.
