Sheila and John Hackett Research Travel Award

One award of $1,800 for travel to the European Union for research purposes is available per academic year.

MA or PhD students registered in programs in the Faculty of Fine Arts and in the Faculty of Humanities Departments of English, French, Greek and Roman Studies, and History who have high academic standing are invited to submit their application to the Office of the Dean of Humanities (Clearihue C305) by September 30. Adjudication by the Advisory Committee to the Associate Dean of Humanities will take place in early October.

Applications must include:

  • A curriculum vitae.
  • Unofficial transcripts.
  • A statement of no more than 500 words describing the research to be undertaken, the need to travel to the European Union to complete this research.
  • (At the request of the donor) a statement of no more than 250 words describing contributions to the lives of fellow students.
  • A letter of support from the student’s academic supervisor.

The nominee may access this funding upon approval of the Committee’s nomination by the Admissions and Awards Committee of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
