INDIGENOUS ALUMNI CHAPTER
Mission Statement:
The Indigenous Alumni Chapter encourages a lifelong relationship among the Alumni and with the Indigenous Community at the University of Victoria.
Our Goals:
Uniting alumni and building connections and relationships within the indigenous community; Promoting and supporting the work of the Office of Indigenous Affairs and the interests of the alumni; Fostering awareness of the UVic Indigenous Alumni Chapter through events for alumni, faculty, and students of the indigenous community, and the public at large.
The UVic Indigenous Alumni Chapter:
The Steering Committee will share information, plan events, and seek volunteer assistance. Responds to requests from the Office of Indigenous Affairs. For example, volunteers of the UVic Indigenous Alumni Chapter may be willing to:

Serve on committees in consultative or advisory capacities;

Support projects sponsored by the Office of Indigenous Affairs and university-wide alumni events.

- Collaboration with First Nations students
- Collaboration with First Nations service personnel
- Extending outreach to First Nations sponsors, communities, schools
- Administrative support functions
- Professional development - specific goals
- Develop network with other aboriginal liaison officers at other universities
- Collaborate with other First Nations advisors regarding professional development and problem-solving related to first nations students
- Attend professional development workshops (continue academic work)
