Welcome to the Office of Indigenous Affairs
Indigenous Mini-University Summer Camp

Want to try life at UVic?
Come stay with us for a week and experience the possibilities that university offers!
The Indigenous Student Mini-University Summer Camp gives Indigenous students in Grades 8 to 12 a taste of university life...you'll try out academic, physical, creative, cultural, and social activities. It's a great way to learn about the benefits of a post-secondary education and to envision your options for the future.
Camp Details
The camp is open to students in Grades 8 through 12 who are of Indigenous ancestry (including First Nations [status & non-status], Métis and Inuit) and who are from British Columbia. Spaces are limited, and spaces for each age group and geographical region may be limited to ensure a diverse representation of students.
"I really liked the camp. Met the nicest people, awesome leaders. Made possibly life-long friendships. It is the BEST summer camp I've ever been to and I really want to come back next year. I think it would be amazing if the Mini-U camp was like a couple days longer at least...the 5 days just did not feel long enough." - Jon David (Tla-o-qui-aht)
Cost
A registration fee of $50.00 will be required upon acceptance to the program (it doesn't cost anything to apply). Students are responsible for transportation to and from the University of Victoria, and for all personal spending money. We will cover all other program costs, including accommodation and meals.
