For these reasons, it is important to document Lacandon cultural heritage, before its gone. There are still a few elders who still remember the traditions and practice traditional Lacandon devotion. They believe it is important to preserve the traditions for the new generation, and have agreed to let us record their songs, stories, myths, and chants.
