Welcome to my home page. I am a professor and a researcher at the University of Victoria, Canada. This web site will give you some idea about my life, research, publications, teaching, honors and awards, Master’s and Ph. D. students.

I am a mother of two children whom I am extremely proud of. My son Jason graduated with Distinction from UVic’s Engineering Faculty (on full scholarships for all the four study years) and is working for an IT company in Vancouver, BC. At his graduation, he was awarded a Gold Medal for having achieved the highest GPA among the graduating Engineering students. My daughter Angela is a in Grade 9 late French Immersion Program. Like her mother, she is a voracious reader. One almost never sees her without a book in hand when she is not being active with something else.

I have two major hobbies: dancing and reading. I love reading and my most ideal quiet time is curling up on the couch or bed reading. I always have a few books on the go. have just finished reading the great pianist Lang Lang’s biography Journey of a Thousand Miles: My Story, and am reading the biography of Warren Buffett The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life by Alice Shroeder, Katharine Graham’s autobiography Personal History, and 1421: The Year China Discovered America by Gavin Menzies.
