To tweet or not to tweet, that is the question!
In celebration of Freedom to Read Week (February 21 - 27) and our annual literary symposium, WordsThaw (March 16 - 20), enter our new Twitter First Line Contest and win poetry books by esteemed Canadian authors!
Come up with the first line of a sonnet that is 140 characters or less—it must also be iambic and exactly ten syllables long—then tweet it along with the hashtag #140firstline.
Contest begins February 21, 2016.
Entry is FREE and participants can tweet us their entries as often as they like. A different winner will be chosen each week by Molly Peacock, a featured speaker for this year's UVic Humanities Lansdowne Lecture and Master Class at WordsThaw.
We're excited to co-present this contest with the Greater Victoria Public Library, Planet Earth Poetry, and the Creative Nonfiction Collective Society.
