Line activation and long distance arrangements are not the responsibility of Audio Visual Services.
Instructions
Make sure the phone line you will be using is live and is an analog line. If the call you wish to make is long distance, you will also have to arrange long distance access prior to your call date. Both of these things can be done by calling the switchboard at 8555.
The power adapter (the part that is plugged into a wall AC outlet) has connector inputs on the bottom end. Each connector input has an image indicating which wire should be connected to each. Set the phone console in middle of table and attach the two external microphone cables to the underside of the console. Extend the mics away from console so that they are evenly distributed over the space where people will be talking. Press the button with the telephone image and then dial the number on the keypad to make a call - UVic phone rules apply. To connect more than one party, use the button with the multiple person image to put the first call on hold, so that you may dial a second number. Volume adjustment buttons are located on the right side of the console along with a mute button. The two external microphones also have mute buttons.
-Green light = your call is in progress
-Blinking green = incoming call
-Red light = your call is muted
-Blinking Red = call is on hold
