Since 1988, the Medieval Studies Program and the Division of Continuing Studies have offered a day-long program early in February with several guest lecturers speaking on topics of particular interest to medievalists. This year's Workshop is titled:

Magicians, Seers and Sages
February 4, 2012

Our guest speaker for the upcoming Medieval Workshop ('Magicians, Seers and Sages', 4 February 2012) is Dr Stephen Knight. Dr. Knight is distinguished Research Professor in the Department of English, University of Wales. He has written extensively about Medieval literature, particularly Robin Hood and Arthurian legend, and has also published studies of crime fiction. His many books include, Arthurian Literature and Society (1983), Robin Hood: A complete study of the English Outlaw (1994), Robin Hood: A mythic Biography (2003), and Merlin: Knowledge and Power through the Ages (2009).
