About Me

I joined the Multifaith Chaplaincy team in the spring of 2004.

Appointed by First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Victoria, I came to the position with a lifetime of experience in Christian Science, having served Christian Science churches in various capacities, including Sunday School teacher, member of the executive board, and as First Reader, conducting church services. I also served as a representative on the Capital Region Interfaith Council in Ottawa, as well as in several Christian Science Organizations on University campuses.

Presently, I’m a Christian Science practitioner in the practice of Christian healing. Before becoming a full-time spiritual healer, I worked as a research scientist for over 30 years with the Geological Survey of Canada in the field of geophysics.

About Christian Science

We regard Christian Science as the Science of Christianity as practised by Christ Jesus. It illustrates and demonstrates the laws and rules of spiritual healing within an understanding of God as Spirit and of man and the universe as spiritual. It was discovered by Mary Baker Eddy in1866, and thoroughly tested by her in healing all sorts of physical and other problems before she wrote her seminal work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. First published in 1875, this book contains "the full statement of Christian Science, or the Science of healing through Mind" (or God) (Ibid.). The book and various articles on Christian Science can be accessed on the internet at www.spirituality.com.

Mrs. Eddy founded the Church of Christ, Scientist in 1879 www.tfccs.com or www.christianscience.com. In her words "it's a church designed to commemorate the word and works of our master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing" (Church Manual). And in 1908, she founded "The Christian Science Monitor", an international daily newspaper www.csmonitor.com whose motto is "to injure no man but to bless all makind".
