Background Information
Background:
I moved from Fukuoka, Japan to Canada in 1989. First I lived in Nelson, BC for two years, and then moved to Victoria. While studying at the department of Pacific and Asian studies in the university of Victoria, I started to teach the Japanese language for the department in 1997. In 2005 I became a senior instructor in the Japanese language program. I love teaching and interacting with my students, as well as designing new challenges. I also enjoy watching Japanese dramas at home!!
Teaching:
Since 1997 I have taught different levels of Japanese language classes. The classes I taught include JAPA149 (Introductory Japanese: I), JAPA150 (Introductory Japanese: II), JAPA249 (Intermediate Japanese: I), JAPA311 (Intermediate Japanese: II), and JAPA481 (Special Topic: Academic Japanese).
Others:
Beside teaching, I work as a coordinator for the Summer Intensive Japanese Language Program. Currently we have two programs for summer; one is at Konan University in Kobe and the other is at Doshisha WomenĄŻs College in Kyoto. I had very positive feedback from students who participated in these programs and I am very proud to introduce theses programs to students who want to improve their Japanese language ability.
