- Candidacy Exams
- Candidacy Exam Completion Memo - must be signed by the student's supervisor and the Grad Advisor – Note: as of September 2010 doctoral students must register for Psyc693 (candidacy exam) for each term until the exam is completed. Once you have completed both exams (Major and Minor if you are in an experimental program; Clinical candidacy exam and specialty area exam if you are in the clinical program), have your supervisor initiate the completion of this form by filling it in, signing it and leaving it for the Grad Advisor to sign and process.

- Grad Advisor's checklist - review and prepare all documentation on this checklist and bring it to your meeting with the Grad Advisor
- Request for Oral Exam Form – to be signed by your committee and the Grad Advisor prior to submitting your thesis/dissertation to Grad Studies when scheduling your defense
- External Examiner Confirmation of Arm's Length Status Form
- Signature and other pages to include in thesis/dissertation:
- thesis approval (bring to oral defence)
- partial copyright licence (include in thesis/dissertation)
- Library and Archives Canada thesis non-exclusive licence (required for Grad Studies with final thesis/dissertation)
- Thesis/dissertation withholding form
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Students planning to defend in December, July or August must arrange for someone outside the Psychology department (but a member of the Faculty of Grad Studies at UVic) to serve as Chair of the oral exam.
- Request for Extension of Program form - must originate from supervisor
- TA Teaching Effectiveness Questionnaire. You can ask the course instructor to administer this questionnaire to the class that you are assisting. This feedback may be helpful to you, and may also be used in nominations for TA Excellence Awards.
- TA Checklist - You and the instructor complete this form together at the beginning of a TA appointment, and revisit it about halfway through the appointment.

- Graduate Program Regulations - this is the Department's "official" program information (e.g., supervisory committee structures, degree requirements, general expectations of students and supervisors). These Regulations are reviewed annually in the summer, and students are expected to abide by the Regulations that are/were in effect at the time of their appointment into the specific (i.e., Masters or Doctoral) program.

Merit Awards (for current graduate students)
Next round of competition for these awards are in September. Students enrolled in a graduate program in the Psychology Department at UVic will be notified and invited to apply in August.
