Just where is Cairns* anyway?

As you can see, it's conveniently located right next to the Great Barrier Reef, a scant 12,000km from Victoria.

*Cairns is pronounced "Cans" as in, "oi yeah, she's royt as tin cans a beeah mite"
(translation: "the car runs as good as ten cans of beer mate"—whatever that means)
But even if you mispronounce it, the locals will just say "Noy dramas, more beeah mite?"
