Research interests

My research focuses on the early detection of Alzheimer disease using biological and neuropsychological markers.  Specifically, I am interested in the oxidative stress model of Alzheimer disease, and am seeking to identify blood borne markers of oxidative damage for use in early detection of the disease. These data may aid in the development of affordable, fast and reliable clinical tests that may identify individuals at risk for Alzheimer’s disease before clinical symptoms appear. Our hope is that early identification may lead to the development of future treatments to slow or halt the disease process in Alzheimer’s disease.
