UVic's Psychology Department is a place of exciting research activity. Home to more than 50 research laboratories, the Department is a bustling community of faculty and student researchers leading the field of psychology to new and important discoveries.
What's New? Construction of the department's new child development lab is nearly complete and in spring 2010, construction of new research facilities for social psychology and clinical neuropsychology will get underway. Cognition and Brain Science researchers are celebrating their success in securing a National Sciences and Engineering Research Council grant to support research using a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) machine at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. Functional MRI is a cutting edge technology for cognitive neuroscientists that will serve UVic researchers well in conducting research that will advance our understanding the workings of the human brain and mind.
Visit the 'Our People' tab to learn more about the individuals who are breaking new ground in ongoing programs of research within our department. You will discover that research within our department covers a broad range of interesting topics.
