Purchasing Services provides a centrally administered Procurement Service with responsibility to acquire products, services, technology, printing, construction professional services, and business solutions except for those categories of products and/or services specifically excluded from policy FM5105.
Skilled staff are available to assist Faculty and Department Account holders, in all aspects of the supply chain including specification development, market research, sourcing, evaluations, recommendation for award, supplier quality and performance, contract management, supplier payments, asset disposal and general supply management requirements.

WestJet Air Fare Cost Reductions
We are pleased to report that we have been successful in obtaining significant discounts on university air fares commencing with all flights booked on, or after, September 5, 2012. These rate reductions will apply to all travel on Westjet Y,V,Q,L,M,B,P,G,X and D fare types, including both university and employee personal travel, as well as family members travelling with a UVic employee. There are no fare reductions under the new agreement for already discounted fares or Westjet advertised seat sales. Fair Trade, Organic Coffee and Tea
The purpose of this communication is to advise you that a contract has been awarded to Canterbury Food Services to provide fair trade and organic coffee, tea, and related products, as well as equipment and services, to the University of Victoria. Through a formal tendering process, we were able to achieve exceptional pricing as offered by Canterbury, with significant cost savings to the University. Moving and Relocation Services
The purpose of this communication is to advise all campus wide users of moving and relocation services that contracts have been awarded to Armstrong Moving, Quality Move Management, and Tippet-Richardson to provide moving and relocation services to the University of Victoria. Through a formal tendering process, we were able to achieve best-in-market pricing as offered by these firms, with cost savings to the University. We encourage all users to utilize these selected moving companies when considering a relocation firm for their move to Victoria.
Audio Visual Production and Rigging Rentals
We are excited to announce new arrangements in the rental, supply and provisioning of audio visual and rigging equipment and services. Through a formal sourcing process, UVic Purchasing Services was able to achieve exceptional pricing on equipment rentals from AVW-TELAV (formerly Sharp's AV), with significant cost savings to the University. Individuals requiring audio visual production and rigging equipment and services must first contact UVic AV Services. Depending on the location of the event and the scope of services required, UVic AV Services will provide the equipment and services or assist in specifying/identifying specific requirements to utilize AVW-TELAV. UVic AV Services will advise when an external service provider should be contracted.
Bookstore WebReqs
Purchasing Services have added the UVic Bookstore as a department to the Web Requisition system. This enables Account Holders to order books directly from the University Bookstore using an electronic WebReq with the appropriate approvals. Alternatively, you may use a BMO Purchasing Card, if you have one. Please do not print out and submit a copy of a WebReq in person, or use a WebReq as a Purchase Order. If the Bookstore is unable to fulfill your order, they will submit the WebReq to Purchasing Services to issue a PO. Please see attachment for additional information.
Boomerang Box
Grand & Toy has partnered with the University of Victoria on a revolutionary new delivery box system - the G&T Boomerang Box(tm) that can make multiple trips rather than just one. Now you don't have to breakdown, and recycle our delivery boxes. Instead please save them, stack them, and the Grand & Toy Delivery team will take care of the rest. Starting March 1st all orders placed will be delivered in these new boxes. We'll return to pick up empty G&T Boomerang Boxes and re-use them for another order. Together we can help make a difference. UVic is the first and only organization to initiate this project in partnership with Grand and Toy on Vancouver Island.
