Getting in and getting around

If you don't meet the admissions requirments for either the program or the course, show us what you've done as a writer.

 

Admission

Admission to the program will normally be after your second year; plan on taking the prerequisite as soon as you can. When you apply for the minor, you must have the following:

In addition, you must be doing a majors or an honours elsewhere in the University. There is no standalone minor in Professional Writing.

Prerequisites

Before declaring the Professional Writing minor, you must have any two (i.e., 3 units) of the following courses: with a minimum grade of B in each course:

Coop Program

You may choose (indeed, you're strongly encouraged) to be part of the Coop program. In that case, you will also be governed by the Arts and Writing Coop regulations as set out in the University Calendar.

Declaring Your Minor

Declare your minor by speaking to an academic advisor. You must also declare a major or an honors program (which you can do first).
