Sociology is one of the most dynamic and wide-ranging fields of study in today's world. It offers excellent preparation for life, livelihood and global citizenship in a turbulent world. UVic Sociology welcomes students with diverse interests and backgrounds to take our courses and to consider Sociology for your Major or Minor. To get a broad overview of the discipline, we recommend that students try SOCI 100A or SOCI 100B (in either order). These introductory courses serve as prerequisites for many other course offerings in the department.
